Hi! I’m Katie Kangas.

I’m a historic architect who has worked with a wide variety of communities, non-profits, and building owners to make simply, functional design changes that align their buildings with their vision.

It is my joy to work with you and your team of stakeholders to identify your unique project needs and explore the possibilities of your building. Often I am working with folks who are struggling to work within an existing or historic building that just gets in the way of their future. Together we determine how best to maintain the history of your building while meeting the needs of 21st Century communities, museums, & businesses.

As architect & project manager, I guide your project through design, documentation, bidding, permitting, and construction until you can move back into a space that aligns with your needs. Every project is unique because its design and story reflect the unique people and culture using that space. I love serving greater Minnesota & South Dakota communities. It’s a great excuse to see more of the thriving rural Midwest.

As a historic architect, Katie Kangas understands the true value of preserving architecture and cultural landscapes is continuing to use and engage with these cultural resources. From masonry to wood windows, Pasque Architecture can work with you to identify the treatment, but more importantly the causation of the deterioration.

Patching building problems without a better understanding of the cause, could result in further damage to the structure. It always surprises us how quickly water can cause permanent and costly damage. If you are experiencing issues - our team is happy to see the problem before sending a proposal or directing you to a professional who can help.
